Biography:

Growing up autistic was difficult, and Mahina knew that better than anyone. She didn't learn to speak until she was 5, and was consistently unable to learn in a normal setting, connect with her peers, or communicate her needs. Growing up she would often have a meltdown when put into any kind of masculine clothing, which was her parents' only real hint into the fact that she was trans.

Her parents had no idea how to help her, and were often at a loss as to how to raise a trans and autistic child. However, everything changed when Mahina was put into music therapy. She responded amazingly to the use of music to help her function, and notably also had an amazing singing voice for someone so young. Thus, music became apart of her everyday life and way of learning and functioning - however, for her parents, it also became a source of profit.

Mahina's parents insisted on giving her singing lessons and training, which began to encompass most of her life. Unbeknownst to her, her parents eventually began seeking for ways to get her into the professional singing business - and at age 10, after an offer from an agency, Mahina was thrust into the life of training to be an idol.

Very quickly, any semblance of independence Mahina felt in her life faded away. Every day was spent practicing singing, training to dance, looking at costumes, and repressing her symptoms to look good for the camera. If she melted down she was punished, if she stimmed too much she was punished - and yet her autism became almost a marketing point for her agency and her parents; their galaxy's first autistic idol.

It wasn't that Mahina didn't enjoy singing. In fact, music was life to her, and she loved seeing an audience who felt joy from her music grow before her. However, every aspect of her life was controlled now, and every aspect of how others saw her was manufactured to make a good impression. Her parents often used her autism as an excuse to prevent her from making her own decisions in her music, and slowly Mahina was beginning to wonder if "Mahina" was even a real person anymore.

She often thinks that if she hadn't met Fleur and Merlot, she would have been stuck that way forever. She met the other two coelunes when she was 18 while trying to find some semblance of a social life, and the group of them clicked very quickly. Aside from loving to be around them, Mahina admired how both of them had gone out of their way to forge a life that was truly theirs, and to live true to themselves despite struggle. It often made Mahina wonder what true to "herself" would be - and slowly, she began to confide in them the horrors of the idol industry, and what could only be described as emotional and financial abuse from her parents.

It was Fleur and Merlot that encouraged Mahina that she deserved to get out, and to live her own life. In turn, it was also them who gave her the support she needed to make a plan to leave her parents behind for good as an adult, and who offered to live with her as roommates so her support needs would be met. When she was 20, after a performance, Mahina stood up and made the biggest independent decision of her life. She announced on stage that she was leaving her agency to make her own music career, and she hoped her fans would continue to support her as she started making music she felt she could love.

Her parents were infuriated, but as she was an adult now, there was nothing they could legally do. With support from her closest friends, Mahina silently signed the paperwork to leave and immediately left her parents and her agency behind, going to live with Fleur and Merlot instead. While it took her a good while to adjust to the new living situation, she was eventually able to start creating and releasing music independently, to the well received audience of people who wanted to see her come back.

Mahina eventually started dating Fleur and Merlot together, and has come to a point where she feels she's starting to build a unique identity for herself and to live a healthy life. She loves singing and music, but has come to make it something her own instead of something controlled by others, and is working towards a future where she can leave behind her trauma and truly become someone she's proud of.
